{studio peek} new stripe paintings

I have been working on a stripe series in the studio. these are all  acrylic and mixed media works on paper. I am interested in how relationships and the edges of the shapes are interacting and of course color and mark making. These works will be available through my dealer in Philadelphia Dolan Maxwell.

{Video peek} What is old is new again

Here is a video peek into my process as I find an old mono print and repaint it. I think it was Picasso said ...Art is never finsihed it just stops at interesting places along the way. This piece is still nit finished, but I really enjoyed playing and not being precious with any of it.

{Peek} Working with QOR Modern Watercolors

Today I enjoyed trying these new watercolors from the makers of Golden acrylics. QOR watercolors are delicious,vibrant colors in tubes. These watercolors are super-saturated and really rich, so little goes a long way. The colors are bright and velvety even when dry. They come in introductory sets that are priced reasonably.

{what I'm seeing now} inspiration walk

took a lovely inspiration walk in my neighborhood. the fall color, just past peek. it is beginning to get cold....glad i wore a hat..... i can use these photos for some color inspiration in my fall patterns. this may be my favorite season,  vibrant and warm colors everywhere.

(artful peek} Surface Pattern Collections

I have been dancing back and forth in different creative worlds-painting and surface pattern designs.
I usually start with a concept for a collection like spring florals or fall leaves.
I make lots of drawings in pen and ink and scan them into the computer. I work with photoshop and illustrator to add color and turn them into repeat patterns that can be used on products...so much fun.
