{Video peek} What is old is new again

Here is a video peek into my process as I find an old mono print and repaint it. I think it was Picasso said ...Art is never finsihed it just stops at interesting places along the way. This piece is still nit finished, but I really enjoyed playing and not being precious with any of it.

{Peek} Working with QOR Modern Watercolors

Today I enjoyed trying these new watercolors from the makers of Golden acrylics. QOR watercolors are delicious,vibrant colors in tubes. These watercolors are super-saturated and really rich, so little goes a long way. The colors are bright and velvety even when dry. They come in introductory sets that are priced reasonably.

{what I'm seeing now} inspiration walk

took a lovely inspiration walk in my neighborhood. the fall color, just past peek. it is beginning to get cold....glad i wore a hat..... i can use these photos for some color inspiration in my fall patterns. this may be my favorite season,  vibrant and warm colors everywhere.

(artful peek} Surface Pattern Collections

I have been dancing back and forth in different creative worlds-painting and surface pattern designs.
I usually start with a concept for a collection like spring florals or fall leaves.
I make lots of drawings in pen and ink and scan them into the computer. I work with photoshop and illustrator to add color and turn them into repeat patterns that can be used on products...so much fun.
Here is a peek at a few of my recent surface pattern designs.

{what I'm seeing now} after the storm

Just after the rain  and wind stopped I headed up the street to Jamaica Pond..... grateful for all the beauty.

{sketchbook peek#2} Moleskin Love

Here is a quick peek into one of my favorite tools. I adore Moleskins, the creamy paper  and the smooth texture-  all perfect for working on lettering and illustration ideas. I always have a moleskin tucked in my bag. Have a  quick look/see....
